JUNIOR
Varsity Falcons game outline - August 11
Junior Falcons are OVFL Championship Bound
The London Falcons junior varsity team will be competing for
their second Ontario championship in three years next Saturday
after a nail-biting, last-play 9-8 victory over the Hamilton
Ironmen. The game featured a match up pitting the last two
OVFL championship winners, as the Ironmen were the defending
OVFL champions, while the Falcons were the 2005 champions.
With the win the Falcons remained undefeated on the season,
and are the Adams Conference champions. The Falcons will play
in the OVFL championship against the Toronto Thunder at Varsity
Stadium at the University of Toronto.
The Falcons put themselves in a deep hole early, as Hamilton
took the opening kick off and kept the vaunted Falcons defence
off balance with a strong mix of run and pass. The Ironmen
hit paydirt on a long run up the middle into the endzone, however
they failed on the convert. The failure on the convert, would
foreshadow the day, and were clearly the nemesis for the Ironmen.
The Falcons struggled early, and often, on offence, and were
unable to sustain any drives early in the game. The offence’s
struggles put strain on the team’s defence, and on the
second Ironmen drive the visitors appeared as though they were
going to run ragged all day long. However, the Falcons defence
rose to the challenge, and kept the visitors out of the endzone.
The Ironmen were able to increase their lead with a deep punt
into the Falcons endzone for a single point.
The home team was able to generate some offence late in the
first half. Running back Ryan George darted through the Hamilton
defence for a 40 yard scamper that set the Falcons up with
a first-and-goal from inside the Ironmen 10-yard line, with
under three minutes to play in the half. Backfield mate Kenny
Eansor finished the drive on the next play from 7 yards out,
putting the home team on the scoreboard. The Falcons were unable
to capitalize on their convert attempt as holder Steve Fantham
was pressured on the convert attempt, and his pass to WR David
Hessel fell short.
That would be all of the scoring until the fourth, and final,
stanza. The Falcons had two long drives in the third quarter,
but were unable to capitalize on any of the drives.
Finally, in the fourth quarter the Falcons were able to penetrate
the Ironmen defence. The Falcons drove to inside the Ironmen
20-yard line, but were unable to finish the drive. PK Peter
Park, playing in only his second game of the season due to
injury, finished the drive with a 25-yard field goal. The Falcons
had their first lead of the game with ten minutes left in regulation
by the score of 9 – 7.
The visitors were not to be denied, and attempted to drive
the ball downfield. The drive stalled with 5 minutes left in
regulation, and the Ironmen were forced to punt.
What seemed to be like a poor punt turned into great fortune
for the Ironmen. The Ironmen punter chased his shank downfield,
and was able to recover his own punt to set up a new set of
downs for the Ironmen. The Ironmen, buoyed with this turnover,
attempted to punch it in the Falcons endzone. Once more the
Falcons defence stood the test, and the Ironmen were forced
to attempt a field goal from inside the 30-yard line. Again
the Ironmen failed to put the kick between the uprights. The
kick did manage to go into the endzone for the rouge. With
this single point, and with 1:40 remaining in the game the
score was now London 9, Hamilton 8.
The Falcons took over on offence, looking to run out the clock
and move on. The Hamilton defence held the Falcons offence
to a three and out situation, and with 46 seconds left in regulation
the Falcons were forced to punt.
Hamilton took the ball at their 50-yard line. The visitors
used a mix of runs and short passes to march the ball to inside
the Falcons 20-yard line with 13 seconds left in regulation.
Hamilton then sent out the field-goal unit looking for victory
with a field goal, or a potential tie with a rouge. This time
the kick was wide to the left, and Ryan George ran the missed
kick out of the endzone, staving off the single point which
would have tied the game, and ran the Falcons into next week’s
championship game.
This will mark the third time in the junior Falcons five year
history that they will participate in the OVFL championship.
In their inaugural season in 2003 the Falcons lost the title
game to Ottawa Myers. In 2005 the junior Falcons extracted
their revenge on Myers by winning a one-point game for the
OVFL championship, in a game played at TD Waterhouse Stadium.
This coming week the Falcons will pursue another championship
playing at Varsity Stadium at 3 pm, Saturday, August 18th.

Peewee Falcons Fly to OVFL Championship
The London Peewee Falcons team capped a rousing comeback in
the fourth quarter to better the Brantford Bisons by a 21-13
score and earned the right to play in the provincial final
in Toronto on Friday August 17. The game will be played at
Varsity Stadium on the campus of the University of Toronto.
The Falcons opened the scoring on the very first play of the
day. Brett Weir stunned the Bison faithful by returning the
kick off down the right side for a 75-yard touchdown that was
converted for a 7-0 London lead. Brantford wasted no time in
answering the call by completing a key third down and long
on a great passing play that left them on the London 12-yard
line. Another pass on the left side went for a touchdown. The
teams exchanged the ball several times as play moved into the
second quarter.
Weir again returned a punt for a touchdown only to have it
called back on a penalty. The Bisons took advantage of several
London miscues and moved the ball to the two yard line of the
Falcons. Then Brantford pushed it over on a quarterback sneak
behind a strong offensive line. The London defense broke through
and blocked the extra point to make the score 13-7 for Brantford.
Weir made an excellent pass and run play for a touchdown that
again was called back due to penalties. While playing defense
Weir made a key interception on the 1 yard line that prevented
Brantford from scoring again. At half time the score was 13-7
for the Bisons.
The third quarter featured strong line play from both teams
on the both sides of the ball. There was a lot of hard hitting
and only a few first downs and the London team went into the
fourth quarter down by six points.
The fourth quarter showcased the London team dominating on
both sides of the ball and keeping Brantford bottled up in
their own end. London was moving the ball well featuring the
power running of Adam Sinclair, Sebastian Rovithis, and Avery
Lawrence. David Copp, the Falcons quarterback, played extremely
well under pressure and showed a lot of poise in this pressure-cooker
situation. London moved the ball well into Brantford territory
late in the game only to fumble the ball. But the Falcons defense
would not be denied and subsequent forced a Bison fumble two
plays later. After a few strong running plays, Adam Sinclair
blasted in from the right side and, Mr. Dependable, Dylan Walmsley,
made the extra point to give London a lead of 14-13. With a
vocal Brantford crowd ringing in their ears, the London defense
rose to the occasion. There were heroes on almost every play.
Kane McEwen intercepted a Brantford pass on the 18-yard line
and Sinclair soon followed with his second touchdown and London
took a 21-13 lead. The defensive backs for London were all
over the Bisons as they went to their aerial attack and Justin
Burgess made a key interception to seal the victory 21-13.
Coach Gary Gerard created a team mantra when the playoffs
began. “Boys, we are road warriors and we have 192 minutes
left to reach our goal.” The boys would count down the
minutes, as the Falcons would notch each successive road victory
on their belts. The Falcons have 48 minutes left and one more
road trip to reach their final destination.

Varsity
Falcons game outline - July 21
The London Varsity Falcons had previously clinched a playoff spot in
the OVFL Wild Card game next week. The game came down to two events.
The Varsity Falcons gaining a home field advantage, Matt Pham setting
a new OVFL record with the most first downs in a season and Pham becoming
the Falcons leading rusher in a season. As the singer Meat Loaf said "two
out of three aint bad". The Falcons beat Sarnia Lions 23 - 7 to
host a Wild Card game on July 28th or July 29th. Pham completed the season
with 72 first downs, the old record of 69 was held by Daryll Townsend
of the Essex Ravens in 2004. Pham rushed for 159 yards in the game completing
the season with 1,293 yards on the season. These yards could not dislodge
the existing Falcons season leader Jay Akindolire which was set at 1,369
yards in the 2000 season.
The Falcons started off strong scoring scoring early. The
Falcons found themselves on the Lions 20 yard Lion when a pass
by Luke Thomas to Bryan Parr netted 46 yards and 4 plays later
Matt Pham scored on a 5 yard run. Sarnia was not phased and
came back with a long pass of their own. Falcons safety Blake
Lamond attempted to intercept a pass by Lions QB Pat Leyte
to no avail. WR Devon Johnson then scampered 72 yards for the
TD. At the end of the first quarter the score was tied 7 -
7. In the second quarter would see the Falcons tighten up on
defense and move the ball well on offense. The Falcons FB Dan
Servos would prove to be ready for the days limited work. As
the Lions keyed on Matt Pham, the leading rushing in the OVFL
for 2007, Servos would carry the ball only 10 times but rush
for 130 yards. The Falcons Matt Pham would score late in the
first half and go into half time with a lead of 14 - 7 over
Sarnia.
The Falcons wanted to score quickly so that Sarnia would not
entertain a comeback. The Falcons recieved on the second half
kickoff and proceeded to move the ball just into the Lions
territory. The next play would see WR Bryan Parr run a reverse
legging out a 51 yard run to score on the first series of play.
The Falcons Cody Burt would add a safety later in the 3rd quarter.
The Falcons would finish the game winning 23 - 7

JUNIOR
Varsity Falcons game outline - July 22
The London Falcons junior varsity team used an overpowering second half
to defeat the Niagara Spears 49 – 10 in a game played at St. Thomas
Aquinas Secondary School. With the victory the Falcons completed the
regular season with an undefeated 8 – 0 record and latched onto
home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
The game had promise, as the Spears entered the game 6 – 1
on the season, but were no match for the host team in the last
30 minutes of play. The Falcons took a 13 – 7 lead at
halftime, on touchdowns by WR David Hessel, and RB Kenny Eansor,
before blowing open the second half and never looking back.
RB Ryan George scored early in the third quarter to increase
the lead to 20 – 7.
On the ensuing Spears possession the Falcons defence flexed
their muscles, resulting in a three-and-out punting situation.
The subsequent snap went over the Spears punter, who recovered
and conceded a safety, increasing the Falcons lead to 22 – 7.
The Falcons then took the following kickoff and marched down
field, where QB Riley McMurray hit WR Malcolm MacNeill for
the 30-yard touchdown to go up 29 - 7. The TD was MacNeill’s
eighth of the season, incredibly on only 15 receptions.
Niagara narrowed the score to 29 – 10 on an early 4th
quarter field goal, but the Falcons were not to be denied for
their undefeated regular season. Fourth quarter touchdowns
by RB Kenny Eansor (with his 10th touchdown of the season),
QB Jacob Damstra, and WR Lewis Robinson, on a pass from QB
Steve Fantham ended the scoring on the day.
The Falcons ended the day with 365 yards rushing on 47 carries,
for 19 first downs, and 4 touchdowns. All four Falcons quarterbacks
saw playing time, and the Falcons completed 8 of 13 passes
for an additional 128 yards and 3 TD’s.

and will be the top seed in the Adam division. The Falcons

Falcons game outline - July 15
The Twin City Predators scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to
complete a comeback 28-21 victory over the London Peewee Falcons at STA.
The Falcons close the season at 5 - 3, sitting in 3rd place with a bye
this week and the rest of the conference with a game to play.
The Predators struck first taking advantage of missed a coverage
by the Falcons defensive backs and took a 7-0 first quarter
lead. RB Sebation Rovithis scored for the Falcons after Andrew
Oliver carried the Falcons deep into the Twin City territory
with some punishing runs up the middle.
The Predators struck again on 3rd and 20 with another strong
pass on the left side. With time winding down in the first
half, Falcons QB David Copp completed a long pass to Colin
Mandich that put London in position to tie the score. The O
line blocked well and Copp scrambled into the end zone from
the 2 yard line. Rovithis then took the ball in for a 2-point
conversion with a strong run over the left guard position.
The score was tied 14-14 at halftime.
The second half began with a sustained drive by the Falcons
that lead to a TD by Rovithis. The third period ended with
a terrific pass interception by London’s Kane McEwen
but his TD was disallowed due to an unnecessary roughness call.
The teams traded possessions early in the fourth quarter but
penalties and fumbles soon lead to a Twin City passing TD that
tied the score at 21-21.
London could not move the ball and the Predators took over
on downs on the London 42 yard line. Some solid running and
passing soon brought the Twin Cities close to pay dirt. With
only 1:04 left on the clock, 14 yard run iced the victory for
the Predators at 28-21.

Varsity
Falcons game outline - July 6
The London Varsity Falcons clinched a playoff birth this past weekend
but did not celebrate in an ideal fashion. The Falcons entered Essex
knowing they have made the playoffs but did not play a full game vs the
Ravens. The Falcons were crushed 47 - 13 by the first place Ravens. The
Falcons had an opportunity to leap into first place with a victory but
were relegated to second place in the division. The Varsity Falcons record
falls to 5 wins and 2 losses with the loss. The only highlight in the
game was Falcons veteran safety Craig Butler who was in on 19 tackles.
He amassed 13 solo tackles, 6 assists 1 batted ball and 1 forced fumble
with a recovery.
The Falcons started the game with a 63 yard pass and run from
QB Blake Lamond to Bryan Parr for a TD. The Falcons led early
but could not hold the Ravens who ran and passed their way
to a tying TD early in the 2nd quarter. The Falcons league
leading rusher Matt Pham nursing an ankle injury could only
muster 4 running plays for 5 yards before leaving the game.
The Falcons offense turned to the passing game in a desperate
attempt at moving the ball. This resulted in 3 interceptions
and great field position for the Ravens. The Falcons defensive
who spent too much time on the field held the Essex offense
to only 15 points the first half. The half time score was 15
- 7 in favour of the Ravens.
The start of the second half saw the Falcons attempting to
mount a balance attack with back up QB Nick Ruitenbeek. They
moved the ball into Raven territory early. With the ball on
the Ravens 20 yard line the Falcons tuned over the ball again
on a fumble. The Ravens then drove the field for another score
leading the game 22 - 7. This seemed to take the air out of
the Falcons game. The Falcons would turn the ball over 7 times
on the day with 5 interceptions and 2 fumbles. With a strong
running attack working for the Ravens they held the ball for
the majority of the second half killing the clock and scoring
TD's. The Falcons managed a drive midway through the 4th quarter
scoring keeping it close bringing the score to 29 - 13 Ravens.
The Ravens squashed any idea of a come back and sent the Falcons
packing with 18 points after the 4 minute mark of the 4th quarter.
The final scores stood at 47 - 13 Essex when the game ended.
Offensive Outline
RB Dan Servos had 15 carries for 88 yards and 5 first downs.
WR Bryan Parr caught 4 passes for 78 yards, 1 TD and 3 first downs.
Utility receiver/running back Brendan Allen scored the remaining TD on
a 32 yard pass and run.

JUNIOR
Varsity Falcons game outline - July 7
The London Falcons junior varsity team scored 17 unanswered points in
the final four frenzied minutes of play to defeat the Essex Ravens 33 – 29
in Essex. With the victory the junior Falcons clinched the junior OVFL
West Division title, and improved their record to 7 wins in as many games.
The Falcons opened the scoring in the first quarter and looked
like they were going to run the hosts out of town. The Falcons
took the opening kickoff and marched down to the Essex one.
However, a costly penalty and forced the Falcons to have to
settle for a 12-yard field goal by Andros Agathos.
The Falcons shut down the Ravens potent offence on their first
series, forcing the home team into a punting situation. Defensive
back Corey Crawley then blazed by Essex on his way to a 55
yard punt return major. The convert was blocked, but within
the opening 7 minutes of the game the Falcons were already
up 9 – 0.
Momentum, which would be a key word on the day, swung back
to the home team, who then got busy for the rest of the opening
half. The Ravens used a strong offensive mix of pass and runs
to score twice prior to the close of the first half. The Falcons
went into half time somewhat reeling, trailing by a 14 – 9
score.
However, the Falcons temporarily snatched momentum back on
the first play in the third quarter. DB/LB Ryan Welham pounded
Essex quarterback Austin Kennedy-Greenwood, causing a fumble
that was recovered by DL Nate Annan. On the very next play
RB Ryan George ran untouched for 21 yards. The Falcons were
unsuccessful on a two-point convert attempt, but reclaimed
the lead at 15-14.
However, that momentum was short-lived, as Essex scored on
the ensuing drive, and made their two-point convert to go out
in front by a score of 22 – 15. The home team wasn’t
done there – they continued their assault, and added
another touchdown to take a seemingly commanding 29 – 15
lead.
The Falcons, who appeared to be down and out, started their
comeback early in the fourth quarter. Quarterback Jacob Damstra
punted for a 63 yard single to get the Falcons closer.
However, it was the final four minutes of play that riveted
the Falcons to victory. Facing a 3rd down and 20, Damstra rolled
out for a gain of 15. On fourth down Damstra found WR Malcolm
MacNeill for 8 yards and another first down. The Falcons then
continued their drive and finally found pay dirt with 4:05
left in the game when Damstra hit TE Jacob Ruby for 6 yard
TD pass on fourth and goal. The Falcons caught Essex snoozing
on the convert, and holder Steve Fantham found WR Nolan Allison
all alone for a 2-point convert, bringing the Falcons to within
5 points at Essex 29, London 24.
The Falcons defence grabbed hold of their new friend Momentum
and used him to hold the Essex offence to a 3 and out punting
situation. The Falcons returned the Essex punt to the Essex
side of mid field. On the ensuing play RB Kenny Eansor ran
the ball to inside the Essex 5 yard line. Two plays later Eansor,
who continued his monster season with 178 yards on 21 carries,
finished what he started with a one-yard plunge. Eansor continued
to take charge, and scored on a two point convert to give the
Falcons a 32 – 29 lead, with just over one minute to
play in the game.
On the ensuing kickoff Momentum rode with the strong leg of
Andros Agathos as he sailed the ball through the back of the
Essex end zone, scoring a key rouge for a 33 – 29 lead.
The host team did not give up easily, as they attempted a
comeback, but a last-play Hail Mary was intercepted by DB Matt
Lawson at the goal line and the Falcons celebrated their second
division title in the last three seasons.

Falcons Feast on Sturgeon
The London Peewee Falcons had a convincing 28-8 victory over
the Sarnia Sturgeons in Sarnia. The Falcons ran for 404 yards
on 27 carries and punished the Sarnia team with a hard-hitting
defense and solid special teams play.
London jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter as QB
David Copp scored on a one yard keeper followed by a 40 yard
scamper by Adam Sinclair.
K Walmsley kicked off for sixty yards and Sarnia had difficulty
moving the ball as Cini, Rooney, and Oliver kept pounding them
for losses. Sinclair punted into the end zone and the score
was 15-0 at the half.
The turning point of the game was at the start of the third
quarter. The kickoff was being run back towards the Falcons
end zone when Falcons defender Marco Elia stormed down the
field and made a flying tackle to save a sure touchdown. The
Falcons held. The Falcons Mackenzie McClean blocked Sarnia’s
attempted field goal. Soon after, Sinclair struck again this
time for 80 yards led by a key block from Rovithis. The Falcons
then experimented with several of their running backs effectively
carrying the ball. Van Praet and Adzija were successful and
then Adzija blasted up the middle for a 28-0 lead.
In the fourth, Sarnia finally moved the ball methodically
on the ground and scored late in the game to make the score
28-8. They tried an onside kick but the Falcons Mitchell Jamieson
jumped on the ball as he was smothered by 9 Sturgeons. The
game finished on a strong note for London as Mackenzie Cammock
and Alex Vandersluis carried the ball and sent Fish Flying.
The final score 28-8 and London must now prepare for a tough
Twin Cities team at home next weekend in their final game.

Falcons game outline - June 30
The London Varsity Falcons completed a 3 game sweep of the Guelph Bears
with a 43 - 21 victory. Earlier the Pee Wee Falcons and the Junior Falcons
beat the Bears. The Varsity Falcons raise their record to 5 wins and
1 loss with the win.
The Falcons started the game with a long drive deep into Guelph
territory only to be thwarted by the Bears defensive back field
when they intercepted Falcons QB Blake Lamond. On the day the
Bears would have 3 interceptions and one they would run back
for a TD. The Bears DB core is coached by former Falcons DB
Peter deGouw. The Falcons came right back on their second series
with another long drive this time finishing off with an Aaron
Geisler 5 yard run for a TD. The Falcons dominated from that
point with a series of run and pass plays. The Falcons defense
held the Bears at bay. All of this occurring prior to 1 minute
left in the first half. At this point the Falcons seemed to
loose track of the game. The Bears ran back an interception
for 72 yards. The half time score was 29 - 7 in favour of the
Falcons.
The Falcons still stinging from the ending of the first half
did not seem to be ready when the referee started play. The
Bears opened up the second half scoring with a 102 yard pass
and run for a TD. The Bears seemed to have the momentum for
a comeback. They had a long drive culminating in a TD bringing
the score to 29 - 21. The Falcons Craig Butler recovered a

sleeping birds. The Falcons completed the victory with a controlled

The London Falcons junior varsity team continued their undefeated season
with an easy 44-0 victory in Guelph. The Falcons moved to 6 – 0
on the season. The Falcons used a variety of players in different situations,
while resting most of their starters.
The Falcons opened the scoring in the first quarter when TE
Jacob Ruby hauled in a pass from starting quarterback Blake
Huggins. Andros Agathos converted the touchdown to put the
Falcons up 7 – 0. Agathos added to the scoring when he

Malcolm McNeill added his seventh touchdown reception on the
season on a pass from QB Riley McMurray. Wamsley again converted
the major.
RB Ryan George made effective use of his one and only carry
in the game, which came early in the fourth quarter. George
took a pitch from QB Jacob Damstra and simply blew by everybody,
including the Guelph defense, for an electric 62 yard major.
The Falcons completed the scoring when Josh Diloretto, who
moved to Slotback for this game, was on the receiving end of
a 5 yard pass from Damstra. Wamsley’s converts on both
fourth quarter td’s completed the final scoring.

2 touchdowns. Rovithis and Lawrence both contributed with strong
running games. Quarterback David Copp was effective by

JUNIOR
Varsity Falcons game outline - June 24
The London Falcons junior varsity team remained undefeated with a 29 – 15
victory in Cambridge. The Falcons, who did not play their best game of
the season, moved to 5 – 0 on the season.
The Falcons started lethargically, and trailed the host Lions
8 – 0 at the end of the first quarter. However, the Falcons
started their rally in the second quarter with a 30 yard touchdown
pass from QB Jacob Damstra to WR Malcolm McNeill. Andros Agathos
converted the major to move the Falcons to within a single
point of the home team. Agathos then tied the game when his
booming kickoff of 80 yards netted a single point. The pass
and catch combo of Damstra to McNeill struck again in the second
quarter from 44 yards, and the Falcons took the lead, never
to trail again in the game. The second touchdown catch was
McNeill’s sixth td catch of season, on only 7 catches
this season.
The Falcons added to their lead in the third quarter on a
1 yard run by FB John Britton. The score was set up by LB Kevin
Pera’s 12 yard interception return that set the Falcons
offence up inside the Lions 20 yard line.
The Lions connected on a touchdown pass early in the fourth
quarter to close the gap to 22 – 15, but RB Kenny Eansor,

game out of reach with a 25 yard gallop down the sideline into
the Lions endzone midway through the fourth quarter, for his
6th touchdown of the season. Eansor now has 671 yards rushing
in 5 games this season.
From there the Falcons defence, which was missing 7 starters

The Essex Ravens came out strong on both sides of the ball on their way
to a 35-21 victory over the London Falcons in London on Sunday. The Ravens
opened the scoring early on the strength of a 48 yard touchdown run by
Jared Logan. The Falcons were moving the ball only to fumble on their
own 29 yard line. The Ravens took advantage and banged the ball in from
the 19 yard line to make the score 14-0.
London answered with a good drive to open the second quarter.
Sinclair, Lawrence and Weir combined to move the ball to the
Essex 1 yard line. Weir punched the ball in from the right
side and the score was 14-7. The Ravens answered back on an
impressive reverse by Logan once again from their own 45 for
a touchdown to make the score 21-7. London replied by marching
downfield late in the first half but failed to score as time
ran down and the Ravens closed the door with their swarming
Essex defense.
In the third, the Ravens collected an interception and then
wasted no time in moving the ball back into the Falcon’s
zone. Logan scored his third touchdown on a nifty 22 yard running
play down the right sideline. On the next drive Essex complicated
things by recording intercepting a Falcons pass. The Falcons
held but Essex were able to score a rouge on a punted the ball
through the end zone for a 29-7 lead entering the fourth quarter.

The London Falcons were in a tough battle this weekend facing the 3 -
0 Brantford Bisons. Both teams have proven their defensive prowess in
each of their first three games. Both teams came in undefeated. From
the opening kickoff both defenses proved they were going to be the deciding
forces in this battle. The Falcons defense lead by LB's Matt Peto and
Andrew Fischer shut down the Brantford attack not allowing a first down
until late in the first half. The half time score was 0 - 0.
With both offenses doing very little on the ground or in the air. The
Falcons attempted to move the ball on the ground from the outset but
the Bisons were up to the task. They bent but would not break. When the
Falcons went to the air but the Bisons collected three interceptions.
Matt Pham had a stellar performance again rushing for 150 hard achieved
yards. That would turn out not to be enough as the Falcons could not
move the ball over the goal line. The Falcons hurt their chances with
some costly penalties in the red zone and could only come up with a rouge
late in the game. The Bisons scored once and added a field goal to win
the game 10 - 1.

PEE WEE Varsity
Falcons game outline - June 16
The Peewee Falcons rebounded from a disappointing loss last weekend to
beat the previously undefeated Brantford Bisons 16-7. The Falcons were
led by a swarming defence that forced several turnovers and put the offence
in a position to win.
The first quarter featured tough tackling from both teams
but the Falcon special teams played strong and they had the
advantage in field position.
Early in the second quarter after a poor Brantford punt the
Falcons took possession on the Bison 35 yard line. Sinclair
banged off of a tackle for a 12 yard gain to move the ball
to the 23. Two plays later quarterback Trevor Friis executed
a nifty end around to Derek Ho who scampered in from 18 yards
out to give the Falcons the lead 7-0 after the Wamsley convert.
The teams then traded first downs before the Bisons pulled
even on a 32 yard that split the defence. A successful convert
made the score 7-7. After the kickoff London was downed on
their own 28 yard line with 54 seconds left in the half. Friis
connected on two straight passes to Derek Ho that moved London
deep into Bison territory with time running out. Friis went
down with a leg injury but David Copp connected once again
with Ho to move London to the two yard line. The Falcons failed
to score as the half would run out.
In the third quarter strong tackles by Cini, Young, Rooney,
and Butkus kept the Bison team in check. Bugeja intercepted
a pass and London moved the ball well until the Bisons took
over on their own 34. After taking over the ball after a Brantford
punt, Copp found Mandich all alone on the left side en route
to a 30 yard touchdown and a 14-7 Falcons lead.
Both teams traded turnovers as the fourth quarter began. Justin
Burgess made a terrific interception with three minutes remaining
and returned it to the Bison 6 yard line. The Falcons could
not score in four tries but when Brantford took possession
they were tackled in their own end zone and the Falcons were
up 16-7. The teams exchanged the ball again as time ran down
and London improved its record to 3-1.

Falcons game outline - June 9
The London Falcons Varsity team rode the tide of Matthew
Pham again this week bringing their record to 3 - 0.
The Falcons began their first possession with an incomplete
pass then ran Matthew Pham off tackle for 48 yards and a TD. This
set the tone for the days activities. While the passing
game stumbled today Pham picked up the load and ran with it. On
the Falcons second possession a series of running plays to
Pham resulted in successful gains of 9, 12, 13, 6, 10 and 7
yards. This had the Halton Invictas defense keying on
him. The shift in Halton strategy resulted in the inside
counter run of FB Aaron Geisler who scampered for 23 yards
and a TD. Giving the Falcons an early lead of 14 - 0. At
half time the score was 21 – 0 in favor of the Falcons.
The Falcons defense bent slightly but was up to the task. The
Haltons QB was a formative opponent as he scrambled all day
and completed many passes. These passes however did not
result in many points on the board. The Invictas’ could
only mount 1 TD in the third quarter on a fine run. The
Falcons constant harassment of the Haltons offense resulted
in a safety when the Invictas QB attempted to avoid the sack
in the his own end zone by throwing a pass to the open field
with no receiver. This play credited Scott Theakston
with a safety. The Falcons carried the play in the fourth
and final frame winning their third in a row 37 – 7.
Offensive Outline
Luke Thomas passed 14 times completing 5 form 41 yards, 1 TD and 2 first
downs.

JUNIOR
Varsity Falcons game outline - June 9
The London Falcons Junior Varsity improved their record to 3 – 0
with a fourth quarter come from behind 14 – 8 victory in Hamilton
over the Steel City Ironmen. The game featured the 2006 OVFL Champion
Ironmen against the 2005 OVFL Champion Falcons.
For the third week in a row, the Falcons used a ball control
offence to go with their swarming defence as the keys to their
victory. The Falcons forced another 4 turnovers, including
a blocked punt by DE Nate Annan with less than three minutes
left to play in the game. On the prior third down play
Annan made a key defensive play by chasing down a Steel City
receiver on a reverse, which forced the home team to punt. Three
plays later RB Kenny Eansor, who had a monster of a game, scored
the winning touchdown to put the Falcons up 12 – 8. Eansor
would add the 2-point convert to make the final score London
14, Steel City 8.
The game was a hard fought battle, and at halftime the score
was 0 – 0, marking the first time that the Falcons had
not scored in the first half. The home side took an early
lead in the third quarter on a well executed long completion
for a touchdown. The convert made the score Steel City
7, Falcons 0. The Ironmen completed their scoring in
the third quarter with a single off of a missed field goal,
and for the first time in the 2007 season the junior Falcons
found themselves trailing in a ball game.
The Falcons started their comeback in the fourth quarter on
a 37 yard touchdown completion from QB Riley McMurray to WR
Malcolm McNeill. The Falcons attempted to tie the game,
but QB Jacob Damstra’s rush on the 2 point convert attempt
fell just short of the endzone.
From there the Falcons defence took over, setting up the late
game heroics of Annan and Eansor. Eansor finished the day
with 248 yards on 36 carries.

PEE WEE Varsity
Falcons game outline - June 8
The London Pee Wee Falcons experienced their first loss of the season
and the first defeat of this newly formed team. The game was a very close
contest it what can be described as a defensive battle. Both teams come
into the game averaging over 30 points scored per game and not allowing
more than 10 points in a game. So something had to give. London Falcons
lost the tough defensive struggle to the Cambridge Lions by a score of
14-7.
London’s ground attack was stopped continuously by the
tough Lions defense and the Falcons were bottled up in their
own end for the entire first half, only managing one first
down. Led by their linebacking corps, the London defense answered
back by refusing to let the Lions score. The Lions were supported
by strong special teams play and opened the scoring early in
the 2 quarter by blocking a London punt and jumping on the
ball in the end zone. London answered back soon after with
a pass from Copp to Cumberbatch and a 72 yard scamper and the
extra point squared the score at 7-7.
In the second half Cambridge managed to penetrate deep into
the Falcon zone after a strong kicking game pushed London back.
A pass interference call gave the Lions the ball on the four
yard line and they pounded the ball in for the score which
they converted to take a 14-7 lead.
The Falcons passing attack was not up to par completing only
1 pass on 13 attempts. The one passing play was a great one
though. Tristan Cumberbatch caught a pass from David Copp and
ran 72 yards for the score. The running attack of the Falcons
was humbled by the strong work of the Cambridge Lions defense.
The Falcons could only muster 13 yards on the ground.
In the fourth quarter Cambridge marched down to the London
nine yard line but were pushed back once again by London’s
solid defense. When London took over on downs they were not
able to complete a pass and turned the ball over late in the
game. London received a tough rush from the Lions defensive
line and sacked London’s QB on a pass attempt. The sack
resulted in a fumble and the Falcons turned the ball over.
The Lions held onto the ball and ran the clock down en route
to securing the 14 – 7 victory.

Falcons game outline - June 2
The London Falcons Varsity team ran their record to 2 – 0 with
a convincing 48 – 22 victory over the Cambridge Lions on Saturday
at TD Waterhouse Stadium.
The Falcons controlled the ball on some great running by Matthew
Pham. Matt had 5 TD's in todays game. The game started with
the Falcons driving the distance of the field only to fumble
at the goal line. The Lions could not mount much of an attack
in the first quarter. The Falcons cam right back down the field
to score their first TD of the day with 7 minutes left in the
first quarter and only their 9th play of the quarter. At the
end of the quarter the Falcons lead 20 - 0. Cambridge began
a come back with a TD at the 3 minute mark of the first half.
Then stopped the Falcons quickly. Cambridge drove the field
to be stopped at the goal line with no time left on the clock.
Keeping the score at 20 - 7 at half time.
The third quarter was tough for the Falcons. Cambridge gave
them some misdirection and short passing plays. That seemed
to catch the Falcons off guard. The two teams exchanged TD's
and Cambridge gave the Falcons a scare but it did not last
long as Matt Pham basically took over and ended the day with

Panthers at Macrae Field in Waterdown. The Peewee Falcons extended
their record to 2-0. The PW Falcons were dominant on the day, winning
42-0.
The PW Falcons employeed a multi-headed power rushing attack on
the Panther defense. The PW Falcons defense was stifling throughout
the entire game.
The opening quarter saw the Falcons offense score 2 touchdowns in the
first 8 offensive plays. An opening quarter rushing attack headlined
by RB's Avery Lawerence, Sebastian Rovithis, and Adam Sinclair dominated
the Wentworth defense for much of the first quarter. The Falcons
offensive line was dominating the entire cap. A 42 yard flanker
reverse was executed to perfection by WR Dustin Ho with solid blocking
from the line. Adam Sinclair opened the scoring with a 18
scamper to the end zone on the opening drive. The Falcons
defense held the Panther offense to a quick 4 and out. Setting the
tone for the day. The PW Falcons second possession

down the running game of the Panthers. Mid way through the 2nd
quarter, FB Avery Lawrence, burst through the middle and scampered 36
yards to the endzone. A poor snap, but good recovery by holder
Brett Weir, led to a 2 point conversion run. S Matt Cini led the
defensive charge during the second quarter. With the PW Falcons
defensive line shutting down all attempt of a running game, the Panthers
started to go to the air. The Falcons closed the second quarter
by QB Brett Weir throwing a TD pass to WR Colin Mandich, with 0:05 second
remaining in the half. Another converted extra point gave the visiting
PW Falcons a 28-0 halftime lead.
The third quarter played out much like the previous two. The PW
Falcons offense marched the length of the field using the power running
game. RB's Sebastian Rovithis and Adam Sinclair split carries the
entire drive, with Adam capping the drive with a 7 yard burst. Another
extra point gave the falcons a 35-0 lead at the midpoint of the 3rd quarter. The
PW Falcons defense continued their strong play in the remainder of the
third quarter. With constant defensive line pressure from DE's
Jacob Hawes and Kane McEwen the PW Falcons forced the Panthers into mistakes. One
ill advised pass was intercepted by S Matt Cini, with a convoy of blocker,
Matt returned the interception 55 yards for a TD. K Dillon Walmsley

their strong play. The PW Falcons dominated the entire game from
opening whistle through the final whistle. The defense held a powerful
offense to very little, the Falcons rushing game dominated the day due
to the OL.
